WHEN IS IT TIME FOR NEW TIRES?

The need for a tire replacement can occur at anytime! It's crucial to keep a close eye on your tires to ensure that they're replaced accordingly. Here are just a few indicators:

  • Low Tread Depth (4/32 or less)

  • Tire Age (manufacturer dependent)

  • Exterior Damage (sidewall cracks, bulges or exposed wires)

If you're unsure of how much time your tires have left, our team is happy to take a look and replace them if necessary. Just stop by the shop and we'll get you taken care of!

What tire is best for you?

  • New tires are always a secure and reliable choice, and will guarantee safety and longevity moving forward. That said, new tires are usually a more costly option. If you're needing to stay within a certain budget, new tires may not be the route for you to go!

  • Used tires are exactly what they present as, used. While some used tires are more worn than others, it's always important to check the tread depth to distinguish the remaining lifespan of the tire - some can still be good as new! The pros of buying used tires is that it's environmentally friendly and a cheaper option. However, keep in mind that if you rely on your vehicle for business or if you travel often, we wouldn't recommend settling with a used tire just to be safe.

  • Retread tires preserve the original tire casing, but add new tread rubber. Retreads are held to the same standard as new tires in terms of tread-depth and safety, but are usually a cheaper option due to the reuse of the casing. Like used tires, retreads are also an environmentally-friendly option. Additionally, we wouldn't recommend retreads if you're frequently traveling or driving at high speeds.

Can't decide between a new tire, used tire or retread? There are many factors that can help you determine which tire is the best investment for your vehicle.
